Are you an alpha male or the other guy?

When it comes to guys, there two main distinct groups.  The ‘alpha’ males and the ‘other’ guys. The alpha males are self-confident, always stand out in a crowd, and believe they are destined for greatness; nothing stops them from getting what they want in life. An alpha male takes every problem in his way as a challenge to prove his worth. Risk taking characterizes their lives. This crop of guys are used to being among the best in every sector of life, winning is everything to them.

The other guys on the other hand,are not very sure about themselves, having been brought up believing they are just average. This kind of guys are mostly timid in a crowd, avoid picking conflicting sides as they value there peaceful lives. They shun attention. They take comfort in numbers; mob mentality. This isn’t an all bad group as they hardly look for trouble or place themselves in a dangerous situation hence are likely to live long. They are also satisfied with the little they have thus lead happier lives.

Alpha males are most likely to amass great wealth, hold positions of authority or manage successful business empires. They believe in beauty of their dreams. Alphas are successful with the female species compared to the ‘other’ brothers. Sometimes people paint them as the bad boys for their wild nature and less strict morality. This kind would at times resort to uncouth methods just to get things done their way.

Alphas are less likely to venture into destructive habits like drug abuse in order to conform to peer expectations as they value themselves a lot. They appreciate their differences; would rather be the guys who invent trends than be followers. Guys in this group have standards and don’t accept second-rate treatment. Aggressiveness and high self-confidence is the first thing you would notice about them.

The ‘other’ guys on contrary have low self-esteem end up valuing their partners more than themselves; would bend so low just to keep everybody else happy. You would find guys spending money they don’t have, on things they don’t need, to please their girlfriends, getting into unnecessary debts. Meet John a college student who spends 1500bob on his girlfriend hairdo weekly only to barely afford a decent meal thereafter.

You might be wondering how you could shift from the ‘other’ guys side to the alpha’s. It is simple, just believe in your abilities, appreciate your strengths and work on your weakness. Once you realize challenges are part of human life and nothing under the sun is impossible for those who persist. As my high school principle fondly said ‘Discipline, Determination and Dedication are the 3 keys to success.
